People fear that which they do not know. There is nothing evil in the teachings that I can find. I believe that Buddhism is a good and sound philosophy. I'm a christian by the way (point of reference). But to the Buddhists he is the best thing that ever happened to them.

~Good answer, my Christian friend. :-) ..I am a Buddhist... there is nothing in the Buddha's teachings that is evil. He promotes nothing but love. He teaches that one must forgive, and love, and help those in need. How is that evil?

Important figures in buddahism?

Buddhism developed after the Shakyamuni Buddha (Siddhārtha Gautama) became enlightened and shared some of his understanding with others. Those students studied his teachings, meditated and sometimes became enlightened themselves. In turn, they taught what they learned to other interested people, and eventually there was a community or Sangha of practitioners of the teachings of the Buddha. Once that community matured and the practices were codified to some extent, it became known as Buddhism. And the actual founder, as the name describes, is buddha a famous spiritual teacher, revered by many as a god.

Is the Holocaust an example of evil?

An example of moral evil is something evil that is caused by someone (or a group of people). Examples include murder, rape, suicide bombings (9/11) or gun and knife crime. People include Stalin, Hitler, the kidnapper behind Madeline McCann, the two boys who tortured another two and the 13-year-old rapist who was in the paper today. Many philosophers have commented on this. They call it the 'Logical Problem of Evil' or the 'Inconsistent Triad'. This is: 1)God is omnipotent (all powerful) 2)God is omnibenevolent (all good) 3)Evil exists. Obviously, one of these doesn't belong, and we tend to think it is Evil - therefore the Triad is inconsistant. Epicurus argued 'Either God is not all-powerful and he does care, or he does care but he's not all-powerful, or he doesn't exist.' Irenaus argued Evil is telelogical (it has a purpose), that is to make us learn form our mistakes. He thought that 'When Evil occurs, it is our fault, not God's." However, some philosophers believe that some mistakes are too high a price to pay just so we can "learn from our mistakes". Anyway, hope that helped answer your question!!

Are black people evil?

No, not as a whole. You cannot generalize to a single race. There are evil people in every race, even if it seems to you that one race or another has more evil people. Income level tends to have some bearing on this, as the people at both extremes have more opportunities to become evil. If you are very poor, nobody cares about you or notices you, so there is a vacuum in which you can develop evil. If you are very rich, you can use your wealth, power, and connections to very evil things. For instance, consider a certain white political family living in the US, with key critics of theirs just disappearing or appearing to have committed suicide in impossible ways. So why aren't they convicted for making their opponents and whistleblowers who could get them sent to prison disappear? Because they are powerful. I mention this only because it is an example of evil happening from people other than what was asked, and thus nullifies the scope of the question and shows that any race can have evil people in it.
