The question is incorrect. Great Britain began to send its prisoners to Australia in 1788.However, Britain could no longer send its prisoners to America because of the American War of Independence, in which America essentially severed its ties with Britain.

Great Britain has what is considered to be an unwritten constitution. Certain understandings exist, about the nature of British government, but they are not in the form of any written document. Britain has a much longer history than the US, and in the middle ages, nations did not have constitutions, they just had rulers who made up their own rules and enforced them by force of arms. In Britain this gradually evolved into a democratic form of government, without ever having a constitutional convention, such as the American colonies had, following the Revolutionary War.

They are viewed as independent nations. Some are part of the so-called British Commonwealth, a platform for economic, political and cultural cooperation, but Britain today is no more than an equal partner in that group of nations. It doesn't give Britain any added influence in these countries' affairs.

That's a good question. I'm a professor of National History at Virginia State University. Some nations that were no longer around include Moronica, Agrabah, Luxenstein, and Skandistan. Never lose your interest in nations; it will serve you well in life.
Any country that was occupied by Hitler had to fight for him. They no longer had a nation once he occupied them. He owned them. Or the Third Reich owned and controlled them.
