The Gettysburg address was written and delivered by President Abraham Lincoln on Thursday, November 19, 1863 at the Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg. President Lincoln made five autographed (known) copies of the speech, of which he only used one, but made a small change on the day of the presentation. It was given to remember the soldiers that fought for America in the Battle of Gettysburg.
