I'm not in the US Army i am in the British army but the reason why they have second names on their uniform is that when you join the forces you are only called by your second name as there could be countless Danny's, David's, Josh's and so on but not many will have the same second name therefore easier to find a person you are looking for.

Bosma: and that is exactly true in the U.S. forces as well.

Can US Army officers use an umbrella?

Army Regulation 670-1 (Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Equipment), paragraph 27-27, reads: Females may carry and use an umbrella, only during inclement weather, when wearing the service (class A and B), dress, and mess uniforms. Umbrellas are not authorized in formations or when wearing field or utility uniforms. Male soldiers have never been authorized umbrellas, although Air Force personnel may carry them. Therefore...if you're in a joint-service assignment where service uniforms are the duty uniform, make friends with Air Force officers. - - - - - Yes, they may in certain circumstance, however I encountered only one who ever did, a Brigadier General in Germany. Typically, it does not rain in the Army, it rains on the Army (one of those rich traditions).

What font do the Chicago Cubs use for names and numbers on their uniforms?

I cannot tell you of the exact name of the font or style used for the lettering but I can send you to a site that pictures the different lettering, numbers, and logos used on Cubs uniforms throughout the years. To find the names of the font used do a search for online companies that sell baseball uniforms, check out the charts they use for ordering the lettering, and compare them with the Cubs lettering. See Related links below for the websites mentioned above. I have listed one site with uniform fonts you might have to find others to make a match.

When did us army uniforms switch from green to blue?

The U.S. Army officially transitioned from green to blue uniforms in 2010, with the introduction of the Army Service Uniform (ASU). The ASU, which features a dark blue coat, was designed to replace the green Army Class A uniform that had been in use since the 1950s.
