My mom was born and raised in Brussels she was 18 in 1940 she remembers when the Germans invaded Belgium. She also remembers how the English were fleeing like scared rabbits Belgium by ship load, to get back to England by crossing the channel and she remembers how English soldiers were shooting innocent Belgians citizens who tried to board their ships. She also remembers how the French held the Maginot line for six weeks waiting for promised English reinforcements that never came. Everyone always talks how the french surrendered but never is there any stories about how cowardly the English always acted during the war world two. I remembered the day my kids came back from learning french history in their American world history class I wondered who wrote this. There is always two side to every stories.

What strategies were most effective in France during World War 2?

France did not have differing strategies. They were defeated by Germany in six weeks and played no further significant role in the war. France had a defensive strategy at the start of the war, which was (spectacularly) not effective. Apparently the few troops who were left in a position to get in the German army's way *did* figure out a battle strategy that could have been effective, but there weren't enough of them at that point to use it to stop the German advance; it was apparently used again later in the war, after D-day. I didn't really understand the description of this strategy; to read it yourself, see "why was France defeated so quickly in WW2?"
