James Long was angry about the Adams-Onis Treaty because it ceded Florida to the United States while simultaneously recognizing Spanish claims to Texas, which he believed undermined American expansionist ambitions. Long, a filibuster and advocate for Texan independence, felt that the treaty betrayed the interests of those seeking to expand U.S. territory and promote settlement in Texas. He was particularly frustrated by the lack of support for Texan independence from the U.S. government, which he saw as crucial for the development of the region.

There is much that people today can learn from the long term results of the Treaty of Versailles. Specifically, it is that people should not severely punish the losing side following a war. They should make the terms of any treaty fair and moderate to all concerned.
One of the provisos of the treat settled the border between the US and Spanish Texas. Long land interests in Texas and objected to the settlement of the border.
The U.S. made a treaty with Canada a long time ago.
You could be more specific. What treaty? Go die in a hole.
if you are referring to the Fort Laramie treaty of 1851, "As long as the river flows and the eagle flies." -- Rabbit if your'e referring to the later Black Hills Fort Laramie treaty of 1868 ,"as long as the river flows and the grass grows"
