Its difficult to give an exact number of the invading Romans because there were at least two invasions at two different times. The first was under Julius Caesar and it is said that he had about 30,000 men. Almost a hundred years later Claudius sent four legions over there, which on paper should have been around 24,000 men. (That is, if the legions were at full strength, which was a rare occurrence. At any rate, those numbers are estimated numbers and although they can come pretty close, there is no way to check for certain.
