From day to day, ancient Romans did very much as many people still do today: they slept and ate, worked, chatted with friends, played with their children, talked about the weather, worried about economic woes or rumors of wars, and also paid homage in small and large ways to their gods. It should be noted that the daily lives of Romans often differed among country-dwellers and city-dwellers, as well as among the wealthy and the unwealthy.
