Julius Caesar was NOT a king, Rome had been a republic for several hundred years. Before that, it had been ruled by kings, and after Caesar's murder it soon switched to emperors (for the first decades there were 2 then 3 rulers at the same time, but then they decided 1 emperor was enough!).
There was no king before Caesar--at least not for about 450 years. At the time of Julius Caesar Rome had the republic as its form of government. Incidentally, Caesar was not a king, he was a dictator, which is a supreme office in the republic.
The Romans only had one republic and it was established hundreds of years before Julius Caesar was born. I believe there was no emperor at the time of Spartacus, as Caesar was the "king." Caesar wasn't actually the king, yet. He was just ruling and decided to become king, until he was unfortunately stabbed twenty three times in the Senate, the day before he left for a five-year war. There is a link that explains things, if I am incorrect:http://www.fsmitha.com/h1/ch18.htm
They were called "Caesar" because that was their title. The Romans never used the words king or emperor. It came about because Caesar was the family name of the first five emperors and the Romans called people by their last names. (If they did not know them well.) It then became a tradition to call each ruler "Caesar" as the name had taken on more of a meaning than a simple family name.
The Latin term for king is rex. The term Roman emperors has been coined by historians. The Romans did not use it. They said princeps of called them by the titles Caesar and Augustus.
Sixty! From Augustus Caesar to Julian of Pannonia, the last usurper before the Roman Empire was split. See the attached link. Caesar was originally the surname of a branch of the Julian family. Julius Caesar's full name was Gaius Julius Caesar, and Augustus's was Octavius Julius Caesar. After Augustus became emperor, the name Caesar became synonymous with "emperor". At the time of Diocletian, a "Caesar" was the title given to a kind of vice-emperor.
no
King Caesar was created in 1974.
No, the Romans had left Britain's shore a long time before James the first became king.
King Caesar House was created in 1809.
Cassius concentrates on Caesar's tyranny on the Romans after being crowned.( unfortunately he died before becoming a king )
Caesar means KING.
Julius Caesar wasn't a king. He was a dictator. The people loved him but, he was a dictator nonetheless.
Julius Caesar did not want to be a "king" in the strict sense of the word. King was a nasty word to the Romans. But Caesar did want all the power, so he was satisfied with the title and powers of a dictator. The reasons for his power-grab were because of his impatience with the slow moving senate, the resistance to some of his reforms and his own ego.
Caesar, of course.
Go to Okinawa.
The play is titled "Julius Caesar" because it is about the final days of the Roman king, Julius Caesar.
because he said that if Caesar get king he would kill his self before being ruled by him
