This period 1100-800 BC known as the 'Greek Dark Ages' is from the period of the Dorian invasion, the decline of the Mycenaean palatial civilization to the Greek poleis which was in the 9th century B.C. There are no written evidences during this period.

It was called the Dark Ages because we know nothing of that age and people didn't communicate causing it to become a mystery of what went on.
