No it's done by number of days not dates it shoulnt effect you'r period unless its due on the first of march then it might be a day late nothing to worry about one day wont matter that much unless you work like a clock and could put your period down to a time :)

The odds are 91% that any given 12-year period will include three leap years. The other 9% of the time there are two leap years in a 12-year period. There are never four leap years in a 12-year period.

How many days are there in 7 years?

There are 3 different answers because of the leap years. this is 7 years with 2 leap years: If the beginning year is a leap year, when the leap year is next year, or the leap year is two years after the beginning year, there will be two leap years in the seven year period, and so the number of days will be 2557. If the beginning year isn't in any of the above catergories, there will only be 2556 days, because of only one leap year. If the beginning year is 3 years before a year that is a multiple of 100, but not a multiple of 400, there will be no leap years. For example, the 7 year period beginning in 2097 has no leap years because 2100 is not a leap year. In that case there will be 365 * 7 = 2555 days.

What is the probability that a year selected at random is a leap year with explanation?

The probability is very close to 0.25 A year is a leap year if the number is divisible by 4 - except if the number is divisible by 100 it is not a leap year - except if the number is divisible by 400 it is a leap year. So, in a 400-year period there are 97 leap years. The probability or relative frequency of leap years is, therefore, 97/400 = 0.2425

How many leap years are there in 800 years?

A leap year is every 4 years and so 800/4 = 200... unless it includes a year that is exactly divisible by 100. In that case, an additional rule has to be applied. If a year is exactly divisible by 100 but not exactly divisible by 400, then it is NOT a leap year. If it is exactly divisible by 400 then it IS a leap year. 1700, 1800, and 1900 were NOT leap years. 2100, 2200, and 2300 will NOT be leap years. 1600, and 2000 were leap years. 2400 will be a leap year.... so if the 800 year span happens to include a year exactly divisible by 100 but not exactly divisible by 400 then there would only be 199 leap years.

What do you call period of 365 days starting from 1st January?

It can be a year, but a leap year is 366 days, so it is not always a year. In a leap year, there is no special name for the first 365 days.

Why did the 1878 calendar repeat itself four times in the 20 years between 1888 and 1908?

That is just the way the calendars do repeat. A calendar repeats either every 5, 6 or 11 years, or every 28 years in the case of a leap year. A leap year skips a day, so you don't wait 7 years for a day to come round a second time. Depending how the leap years lie in relation to a year, one day may be skipped in a 7 year period, 2 days may be skipped in a 7 year period, if there are 2 leap years in that period, or the day you are expecting to come round is itself skipped, which accounts for an 11 year gap. If you check a set of calendars for that period, or any period you will see how the gaps are normally 5, 6 or 11 years. 1878 started on a Tuesday. As part of the normal pattern, there was an 11 year gap to 1889. 1884 did start on a Tuesday but being a leap year, it had 29 days in February, which 1878 did not, so it was not a repeat of 1878. So 1889 was the next normal year to start on a Tuesday. There was then a 6 year gap to 1895, as 1892 was the only leap year in that period, causing 1 day to be skipped. 1900 was not a leap year, which slightly disrupted the normal pattern of a leap year being every 4 years. It would normally have been a 5 year gap after that, but because 1900 was not a leap year, there was another 6 year gap to 1901, as 1896 was the only leap year in that period. Then there was a 6 year gap to 1907 as 1904 was the only leap year in that period. So that is how the 4 years occurred.
