People in Iraq do not celebrate Thanksgiving.

The country is over 90% Islamic, the other 10% consists of Christians and other religions.

The population is nearly 29 million. Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians, Iraqi Turkmen, Persians, Armenians and Marsh Arabs are the main ethnic groups living in Iraq.

As early as 5000 BC it was home to the world's first known culture, the Sumerian culture.

So the Iraqi people with their rich history, culture, music, art and literature celebrate Islamic Festivals, local ethnic ones- for example in the Spring Nourouz, national holidays and hold various sports and cultural celebrations.
