Milk and cookies. When the children wake up in the morning to see the cookies and milk gone, they know Santa has visited. The most common items children leave for Santa are cookies and milk. Some will also leave a carrot or apple as a little treat for Santa's reindeer. The most common items children leave for Santa are cookies and milk. Well, that is a tough question. Of course Santa touches children when he gives them hugs or asks them what they want for Christmas. He loves them, and wants to treat them kindly. But if you are asking if Santa touches children inappropriately, or does things to make them uncomfortable... no, never. Santa would never abuse children, and anyone who would dress up like him and do that to kids is a fake and a bad person.
carrots or celery I would say carrots, but MY santa has no teeth... biscuits would be a safe choice, I once left some of my mums home made baklava (a greek sweet) and santa wrote a note saying he liked it, so yeah XD

I think you are probably referring to St. Nicholas Day. Around the time St. Nicholas comes to the homes of the children, to bring them gifts, children put out their shoes in the evening and in the morning they will have received a treat.

I would say that most shepherd mixes would be okay, as long as they seem to like being around children. HOWEVER - ALL CHILDREN should be taught the basics of how to treat any dog. That is, no tail-pulling; leave any dog alone while he is eating; never hit a dog; treat dogs with respect and kindness; etc. There are lists on the internet specifically for children to learn how to treat dogs humanely and how to prevent dog bites.
