Every Women is a daughter first.

A woman can be mother, wife, aunt, grand-mother but she is daughter first. Daughter means happiness. Daughters are special. Without daughter world would be what garden without flower.

Daughter's day is an occasion to celebrate presence of daughters in our life. This is a day to thank them, for making our life wonderful, and filling it with joy. To welcome them in this world and acknowledge them that world is incomplete without them.

In Various parts of the world daughters are not treated equally with sons. In India various states have screwed sex ratio, because of male preference. That is why female feticide and infanticide are common practice there. Gender discrimination is not only in india specific but it's world wide.

We are celebrating Father's Day, Mother's Day, Chocolate Day, Rose Day, etc. But somewhere we have forgotten about our Daughters. So let's celebrate Daughter's Day.

Let us all celebrate daughter's day to made female feticide a history. So that, every girl has a right to live.

Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and various parts of India, festival Lohri , is celebrated to mark the birth of male child and Son's marriage. And there is no festival to celebrate the birth or marriage of a girl child .That's why World daughter's day is kept one day before Lohri (13 January), on January 12th.
