Why aren't Mother's Day and Father's Day celebrated on one day?

* Each has given so much to their children in different areas that they deserve a day for themselves. On Mother's Day the father should honor his wife for their child/children; and on Father's Day the mother should honor her husband for his role in raising the child/children.

* Can you imagine walking in with a expensive gift for mom, but a cheap one for dad on the same day? Than there's the long distance calls to mom, but than hanging up to make a collect call to dad (highest day of the year, even now). Then there's all the news reports on the roundup of deadbeat dads. They may be forced to also show arrests of deadbeat moms.

personally i think there should be a children's day too!
