To remember and be reminded of God's love. To appreciate what Jesus did for mankind.

Not only should we celebrate it because of what Jesus did for mankind, but because without what had happened on Christmas Day, we would have no way to be with God. Because we are sinful people and God is entirely perfect and holy, He can't even be near us unless we have Jesus' blood to cover our sin for us. But because Jesus died on the cross, when we except him as our Savior, the gap between us and God is bridged.
