Personally, I think that the adult Jesus scares us too much with his warnings of hell. Therefore, we decide to focus on the baby Jesus, who did not condemn us. We wish that the baby Jesus was the real Jesus (which is wrong), because our maternal instincts set in over a cute peaceful baby much more than over an adult who warned us of hell and who allowed himself to die. That is why Christmas is celebreated so much more than Easter. And as Christmas became the biggest holiday, businesses quickly figured out how to exploit it, resulting in the commercialization of Christmas.

Answer

Christmas and Easter are both religious holidays. At Christmas we celebrate the birth of Christ and his incarnation (the coming to earth of God in human form). However Christmas is also close to New Year and so it is more likely that Christmas is seen tied up with this secular occasion - hence the overcommercialisation. Easter, on the other hand, is primarily a religious festival with little secular involvement where believers celebrate Christ's resurrection, whereas to those who aren't Christian Easter has less of a meaning and is often secularised to a lesser extent (with Easter bunnies etc. and little else). Therefore, as it is less secular it is often less commercialised.

Christians, however, regard Easter as the most important festival of all as the whole crux of Jesus' ministry and purpose was his death and resurrection.

Does Easter exist in japan?

Less than 1% of the Japanese population is Christian. While Japanese tend to be fond of imported holidays such as Valentine's Day or Christmas, Easter is different. Christmas is more of a romantic date night that has been commercialized and sold to the consumer that way. (Rather than the religious observance of Jesus Christ birth.) It is difficult however to commercialize and make romantic the notion of a violent death and a resurrected life. Because Easter is the celebration of Jesus Christ paying the penalty for the sin of mankind and overcoming death, Easter can exist wherever the Christian exist.

What is special about Easter day?

It is important to Christians as it is the most important day of the year and most important event in Christianity. The Resurrection is very important. St. Paul said that if Christ is not risen that our faith is in vain. Christ came to rise from the dead, so what he did was more important than his actual arrival, which is what Christmas is. People generally celebrate Christmas more, but Easter is more important.
