Why is the devil so bad?

I do not know why the devil is bad to Christians and Jews, but I am Muslim so I will answer this question according to what my religion says:

A long time ago, when Adam became a prophet, God (Allah) told all his angels to bow down and submit to the will of Adam. All angels did as they were told, except for one individual named Iblis. Allah asked why he had chosen to disobey him. Iblis responded, "I am made of fire, Adam is made of clay. I am better than him. I do not need to submit to him." Allah got really mad. He banished Iblis from heaven for committing such a shameful crime (disobeying God's command). Allah told Iblis that his new name will be Satan (a.k.a. the devil). Iblis's punishment will be that he can wander around the world and live in a low status. He will be hated and forgotten. Iblis's ultimate punishment will be that he shall go to Hell on the Day of Resurrection.

The question does not require a "Biblical" response, but simply asks a question. The answer is yes, Kal [the Hindi name of the Soul assigned the role of lord of the three lower regions of Creation] is a "good guy" as the questioner puts it. It is the personal MIND that is attached to each Soul to enable it to explore both positive and negative (duality) that is "negative".

Kal serves God as administrator of the Law of Karma and the administrator of the lower three regions of Creation. The idea of a devil is Man's way of explaining what he cannot perceive using his physical brain and thinking. There is negativity, but it is the MIND that is responsible, not some entity.

Biblically - no. The devil is the antithesis of good. The answer is, no. One could suggest that you ask the devil when you meet, but the problem with that is, he would lie and by that time it is far, far to late to seek the truth of the matter.

The devil is bad because it doesn't want anything good for you. It only wants you to give in to the worst of your human urges. This will inevitably lead you to become an empty shell of a human being. So try to keep you head full of noble thoughts, try to make all of your actions noble actions, and follow the golden rule. You'll be fine.

The Bible states that the devil is a liar and a murderer among other things that would be lumped into the "very bad" category.
