What did Sally Ride do after she was an astronaut?
After Sally Ride was an astronaut, in 1987, she went to work at
Stanford University's Center for International Security and Arms
Control. In 1989, she became a professor of physics at the
University of California, San Diego, and Director of the California
Space Institute.
Sally Ride also wrote 6 children's Science books with her
partner, Tam O'Shaughnessy.
In 2001, Sally Ride founded Sally Ride Science, an innovative
science education company whose goal is to to educate, engage, and
inspire all students.
Sally Ride died on July 23, 2012, at age 61
