Glad is better, as a matter of fact, it is also more cost efficient. On the other hand, Hefty is more "Eco-friendly" meaning it is better for the environment. But the fact still remains: Glad can hold more moisture (leaks less) and it can hold more weight (it is more flexible) and further more, it has larger volume.
Glad Products Company.
We just completed a science project comparing Hefty Glad Target and Ruffies trash bags. The average weights held before breaking are: Target 47.6 Ruffies 52.3 Glad 52.0 Hefty 34.4 The winner based on weight held only! RUFFIES!
Yes. They are made of polytethylene and 100% recycled (usually used to make park benches and other imitation-wood products). This is the advantage of recycling plastic bags instead of buying biodegradable, as biodegradable bags can only be composted (non-recyclable).They can be recycled. However you would have to empty the trash they hold into the trash can for pick up, then throw the Hefty or Glad bag into your recycling bin. A better choices would be to buy trash bags that are 100% biodegradable. The biodegradable bags begin to break down in 90 days. Regular plastic garbage bags like Hefty or Glad take 1,000 years or more to start to break down.
I've always used Glad plastic trash bags in my house. They are the best you can buy. You can't beat Hefty. They make the best plastic trash bags around. Definitely go with them.
You can check the Glad website for coupons on Glad trash bags, and Glad zip lock bags. You can also check your local grocery store, sometimes they just run discounts.
Ebay is your best bet. Their are really no stores around that can sell to you so you can mark them up and make money off them. You can contact glad or hefty but I doubt they will help.
