Cadence is the rate at which you pedal the bike, i.e. the RPM(revolutions per minute) of the crank. If your right foot passes through the lowest point of the stroke 90 times during a minute then your cadence is 90.

Cadence is the word used for your pedalling pace, how fast you turn the cranks. If you cadence is 60, the pedals will do 60 full turns in one minute.
