How do you do calibration for differential pressure transmitter?

Differential presseure sensors invariably have two presure sesnors. Subject both the sesnors to atmospheric pressure and adjust if needed. Keep one sensor 1 under known pressure and another sesnor 2 under atmospheric pressure and adjust if needed. Repeat step 2 for the other sensor 2 and adjust if rquired.

Why you use minus to zero range in drum level transmitter?

I refer to Steam Boiler drum level. It is actually - to some positive figure is the range. Generally the boiler level is maintained at mid point that is zero. The transmistter is differential type. (DP type) If the transmitter is with a specified signal out put of 4-20 mA, it sends out 4 mA at lowest level and 20 mA at highest level. At mid level zero it sends out 12 mA. Differential pressure is highest at actual lowest level and lowest at actual highest level of the drum. By keeping negative to positive range there is fair amount of analog signal on lower and higher side of the drum.

What is the function of a relief valve and what is the disadvantage of it?

A relief valve is spring loaded valve that when excessive hydraulic or air pressure is applied it pushes the cylinder in the direction of the spring and lets the oil or air pass through and escape via another hose returning to the hydraulic tank or into the atmosphere in the case of air pressure. Without it hydraulic pipes or cylinders would rupture.

A differential pressure transmitter accurately measures your liquid levels, differential pressure and gauge pressure. The transmitter utilizes a unique silicone sensor with microprocessor technology to provide great performance and functionality.

What is the Meaning of turn down ratio on a pressure transmitter?

This is a number that indicates what range the transmitter will work correctly. This will depend on how strong the transmitter is.

How can you determine the level of liquid without making any cintact with it using any probe?

By differential pressure of the liquid and the air gap above the liquid. Both the pressures are given to the differential pressure transmitter, and the signal received from the transmitter is then converted into level using conversion factors supplied by the supplier of the transmitter.
