Normally 70,000 up to 100,000+ depending on location, length in miles per run and exactly what type of job your doing. But no matter what you do get paid quite well. added answer.... I am a Locomotive Engineer in Canada. I work frieght for Canadian Pacific Railway. 2008 I made $98,500.00 cdn. I could have made about $105.000.00 if I had not takin time off. I also got 6 weeks av in 2008. The more senior jobs on road switches can make a easy $110,000 a year.
