A scientific synonymous word for the word "consumer" would be "heterotroph."According to Google's heterotroph definition,it is "an organism deriving its nutritional requirements from complex organic substances." This would mean that it consumes other living and/or dead beings for it's food source(Examples:plants, pigs, cows and the rest). Us humans also fall into the heterotroph category (which means we fall into the consumer category),along with all other animals and some fungi. I hope this was what you were looking for.

Another definition of the word would be "an organism that is unable to synthesize its own organic carbon-based compounds from inorganic sources, hence, feeds on organic matter produced by, or available in, other organisms.

Additional information about the word:The Greek prefix "hetero-" means "mixed or different." The Biology prefix "troph" means "nourishment." Together, with my additions, it means "An organism that receives its nourishment from different organisms
