Library and information science is very respectable job abroad but we Indians tend to know little about it.

Documentation officer, knowledge manager, information scientist are the various government posts that require MLISc. Nehru-Fullbright scholarship and SAARC countries scholarship can see you in good foreign countries.MNCs like Wipro and Infosys also recruit them.IISc, IITs,IIMs all give good pay with the IIT librarian getting as much as 1lakh per MONTH. Recently i saw a recruitment ad in which a MBBS resident doctor was getting the same salary as the Scientist B (Library Science) in AIIMS,NEW DELHI..Amazing right?
