You need to do a parasitic draw test. Use a voltmeter to check base voltage of battery. Then crank the engine, check voltage at battery. It needs to be at least two more volts than previous base voltage. Then apply a load or turn on headlights. The voltage should not drop over one volt. Ideal base voltage at battery terminals is 12.6, ideal charging voltage would be 14.6, ideal loaded voltage would be 13.6 volts aproximately. If you find a drainage in system and you have a good battery, then you need to check radio and main accessories first, then check door latch switches and courtesy dome lamps. An ideal voltage source has no internal resistance, and a constant voltage output. In reality, all voltage sources (battery, generator, etc.) have some internal resistance, and their voltage may degrade or change over time.Ans 2: An ideal voltage source will have zero input impedance and the voltage can rise to infinity to supply the current.Read more: What_does_an_ideal_voltage_controled_voltage_sources_do
Any modern day car's ideal battery voltage is 13.8Volt. In practive however the voltage you'll find on a charged battery when testing will be in the region of 12.5V to 13V A fully charged battery will read 12.6 volts with the engine not running. With the engine running at idle speed it will read from 13.5 to 15.5 volts.
It's all relative. A battery has internal resistance. Batteries are not "ideal" voltage sources. If there is a "heavy" load on the battery (low resistance), the voltage you measure on the outside of the battery will be lower. A car battery is normally thought of as a 12 volt battery. When there is no load (disconnected) you can often measure in excess of 13 volts if it's fully charged. During normal cranking of the engine, the voltage can drop below 11 volts.
The equivalent resistance you would have to place in series with an ideal battery (which of course does not exist) of the same voltage to get the same behavior (voltage drop with load) as the real battery has. It is a mathematical modeling technique to help in circuit analysis.
Chairs that are ideal for the workplace do not need to be made in the United States of America. The place of manufacture is not a requirement for an ideal workplace chair.
Borrow, rent or buy a volt meter and test the battery voltage with the engine running. Have someone take the rpms up to about 1500 and test the battery voltage. If it's very much above 14 VDC, you have a faulty regulator. Ideal voltage is 13.5 but if it's anywhere near 17 or more it will destroy the battery. On the other hand, if one or more of the cells are shorted out, normal voltage will cause the remaining battery cells to boil.
There is internal resistance in a battery because a battery is not an ideal voltage source. It may be close, but it is not ideal. As a result, analytically, there will be some series resistance, resistance which places a limit on the maximum current that the battery can provide. While no battery is ideal, most are sufficiently ideal to not require any consideration of the internal resistance. If your circuit is dependent on the internal resistance of a battery, then it is probably not well suited for that application.
