When the ceiling light stays on after the switch is turned off, it could be due to a wiring issue where the switch is not properly cutting off the power supply to the light fixture. This can happen if there is a faulty switch, loose wiring connections, or a short circuit in the electrical system. It is important to have a qualified electrician inspect and repair the issue to prevent any safety hazards.
You may have the main switch turned on for the light. If the main switch is on, closing the door will not result in the light going off.

There is a second light switch that activates the parking lights without the key being on. It is on top of the steering column behind the steering wheel. If this switch is turned off and the lights remain on when the key is off, there is a malfunction in this circuit.

It's important to have a qualified electrician inspect and resolve the issue to prevent any potential hazards.
