I suggest you take the poor kid to a wildlife rehab center. You won't be able to fix his wing yourself and if it's stressed & in alot of pain, it probably won't eat much at all. Birds have a very fast metabolism, so taking him to a specialist to get fixed is the best thing before it starves & stresses itself to death.
The main part of there diet is flies. They also eat other insects.
The migrate to get the warmer weather. Also, in winter it would be much harder for them to find food.
Good question, just today I've found a bit of broken glass in my food (Indian restaraunt in London), but I've realised that before swallowing. Quite a good answer is there - http://www.corecharity.org.UK/The-Hazards-of-Swallowing-Glass.HTML.
ALWAYS throw the food away. No food is worth having to swallow broken glass.
Swallow your food before you talk. The barn swallow flew up into the sky. His throat was so sore that he could barely swallow.
The stomach breaks down your food. When you swallow your food, it lands in the stomach. It is broken down by stomach acids and moved into the intestines.
Broken up by the teeth and mixed with saliva, which lubricates it so its easier to swallow.
i saliva does not reach the stomach, it gets broken down in the esophagus!
The pharynx, usually found in segments 4 & 5, is used to swallow food.
How is food that we eat further broken down after being chewed
A swallow: - is a bird. Swallows are colorful, acrobatic flyers that catch insects on the wing. There are many species, among them the barn and tree swallows.
