Sick Pay When A Relative Calls For YouI would read your company's attendance policy first to find out about the rules of absences, since it varies from company to company. It may or may not say that a relative is elegible to call in for you. Even if it does say that, in the event of an emergency, of which you are unable to call in yourself, there's really no reason why you shouldn't be excused from such a rule. A talk with your supervisor or a human resources rep should straighten that out. Also read the sickpay rules. If u meet all other qualifications (And I don't they will include having a relative call in) there is likewise no reason to be denied the sick pay. Once again though, read over the rules, talk to your manager and if they won't do anything, go higher and talk to HR, that's what they're there for. I'm a master of absenteeism, lol

The statutory level of sick pay typically refers to the minimum amount of sick pay an employer is required to provide to employees who are unable to work due to illness.
