David Cameron is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and is the head of Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom. He is also leader of the UK Conservative Party.

As the "Head of Her Majesty's Government" David Cameron leads the Cabinet. In addition David Cameron leads a major political party and generally commands a majority in the House of Commons. As such he wields both legislative and executive powers.

David Cameron also acts as the public "face" and "voice" of the Government, both at home and abroad. Solely upon his advice, the Queen exercises many statutory and prerogative powers, including high judicial, political, official and Church of England ecclesiastical appointments; the conferral of peerages, knighthoods, decorations and other honours; and prior to the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, the dissolution of Parliament.
