Mao Zedong's legal principles, often referred to as "Maoist law," emphasized the primacy of the Communist Party over formal legal frameworks. He believed that law should serve the revolutionary goals of the party, prioritizing class struggle and the needs of the masses over individual rights. This approach led to the use of revolutionary justice, where legal processes were often bypassed in favor of political objectives, particularly during events like the Cultural Revolution. Mao's legal philosophy reflected a broader ideological commitment to transform society through continuous revolution and the eradication of perceived bourgeois elements.

While communists and members of the I.W.W. share a common interest; that interest being to overthrow capitalism and forming an international commonwealth, they differ in one distinct area. Communists believe in the temporary dictatorship of the proletariat (workers), however the I.W.W. believes that the commonwealth should be formed immediately after a global social revolution. The I.W.W. is NOT a communist organization. Sources: The I.W.W. website I'm an I.W.W. member and a Communist Solidarity Comrade! :)

This was distinguished from Joseph Stalin's idea of establishing socialism in one country first then in other countries.
The Bolshevik Party under Vladimir Lenin renamed itself the Communist Party in March 1918 after the Russian Revolution. They did this because Lenin had outlawed all other political parties, especially the other Marxist/Communist ones. He felt that since the Bolsheviks were the only political party espousing communism and since there was no further reason to differentiate themselves from the Mensheviks, they should call themselves the Communist Party. So they did.
