The parents of Elizabeth 1st were Henry VIII and his queen Anne Boleyn, whom Henry had executed in 1533, two and a half years after Elizabeth was born (allegedly for being involved in a treason plot against him, although the real reason is considered to be because she was unable to provide him with a male heir and he wanted her out of the way so that he could marry Jane Seymour). Henry himself died in 1547, of syphillis.

The parents of the present Queen, Elizabeth 2nd, were George VI and his Queen, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.
