Well, for a start, the female is larger than the male...The female mantis can eat its partner if he makes her mad enough during their compulation. But not if he doesn't bug her much. The male can fight back but hes no match for the larger female. Oh and, one more thing, the female mantis only eats the males head.Mantis Tip: Female mantis' are usually green and have 8 sections in their abdomin. Male mantis' are usually brown (like bark on a tree) and have 6 sections in their abdomin.
The segments on a praying mantis are just there so you can identify if it is a male or female in the early stages of it's life. A female's abdomen has at most 5 segments while a male's has about 7 or more.
I don't think if that is how you tell male or female, but im no bug expert. N e wayz i would say female. thanks :)
By its abdomen. Female: 6 segments. Male: 8 segments.
The female does not. The male is often eaten by the female during sexx.
A female will have six abdominal segments.
It can often depend on the species, but for many species the female is larger and wider than the male. The two sexes can also differ in the amount of abdominal segments they have. Usually a female will have around 6 or 7, whereas a male will have 8.
