Tree octopuses aren't real because if they were they would have to be in water to stay alive.I honestly don't believe that tree octopuses change a different color when their mood changes. Please don't believe this, it is not real. Thanks, have a great day.

Theoretically yes, though maybe not from birth. Octopi possess cells known as chromatophores, which allow the octopus to change color and blend in with its environment to hide from predators. There are thousands upon thousands of color combinations available to octopi, so I imagine they can turn purple. However, I'm not quite sure if an octopus can be purple from birth. They have eight tentacles and a large body/head, called a mantle. They are usually reddish-brown in color, but can change their colors easily.
other octopuses kill octopuses!!!! :-D
It appears to vary from species to species. For example, Octopus aegina has it; but Octopus vulgaris does not.
An octopus changes color depending on its surroundings; this is done to protect itself from predators.Octopi are most often a mottled (when they are seen at all due to their effective camouflage) brown, ochre, sienna or other "earthy" color. They can change color to blend with surroundings nearly instantly for protection or "flash" colors to warn or intimidate other creatures.
