The only way to be rid of ticks in your house is to follow these steps. Keep in mind that ticks can live up to a year with no blood supply. They hide in crevices in base boards and walls. If they are allowed to feed, the cycle starts all over as they will lay new eggs. It will take close to 2 years to rid your house of ticks if you are diligent. If you have pets, you will have to enclose your pet to a restricted area outdoors. You can buy cheap Fencing and using stakes, wall off an area of yard from the door to the fence. Keep this area mowed very short and treat the area and fence weekly using Brothers tick solution using a sprayer. You can buy this at Home Depot. Do not buy commercial products as they are expensive and not necessary. If you use a pest professional, you will still have to treat weekly for a year and this is very costly. In home, remove all carpets. You do not have to get rid of them but you will have to store them in a place where they are not close to a blood supply source. Spray baseboards and corners weekly using Brothers tick solution and sprayer. Dusting with Seven Dust does not work! Vacuum daily and replace bag after vacuuming. This is daunting but very necessary. Finally, treat your pet with regular baths,combing and tick prevention medicine. Petcor flea spray also works great. Getting ticks is time consuming, frustrating and costly. Don't be deterred.
You can buy sprays like RANZ or others, that can keep your place free of ticks for approximately 4-6 months.

Seed ticks blow in on any breeze. They do not breed and muliply in there. Ticks must have a living host to complete the life cycle so inside a house they can be cleaned up with a good vacuuming getting all the corners and especially around door and window sills. Using attic fans at night instead of airconditioning will pull them in through the window screens. Outside around your house the only sure way is to spray the area with wettable 50% sevin in a pump sprayer which is a real pain because it doesn't mix in the water that well and keeps stopping up the spray nozzle. The only other resource is to get a commercial pest spray company to come and do this. You do need to get rid of these pests because they carry several different diseases for both humans and pets including the deadly Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick fever or in pets is called Elichiosis (E - lick - E - O - sis).

First you need to give you pets some kind of flea and tick treatment, a bath with flea and tick shampoo, Frontline, or a collar. In my experience Frontline works the best. Then you need to treat your home with a Fogger or other treatment designed for ticks. Read the packages carefully and be sure to follow the instructions completely because they are chemicals. Then be sure to treat you yard with pest control as well to prevent them from returning. After you get rid of the problem be sure to continue using flea and tick repellant for your pets.
