I think about 2 weeks
for about a week
for ages
for a wille
A month
Most butterflies and moths stay inside of their chrysalis or cocoon for between five to 21 days. If they're in really harsh places like deserts, some will stay in there for up to three years waiting for rain or good conditions.
An emperor gum moth typically stays in its chrysalis for about 2 to 3 weeks. The duration can vary depending on environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. Once the metamorphosis is complete, the adult moth emerges from the chrysalis, ready to begin its short life cycle.
The time that a lava spends in pupation may be brief, as with the Monarch butterfly who only stay in a chrysalis for 2 weeks. However, some species enter into a dormant state when they start pupation and stay in this stage until the appropriate season. They mostly stay dormant through the winter months or during the dry season in the tropics. The time spend in the chrysalis is different for each species of Butterfly. A butterfly does not spin a cocoon, its pupa is called a chrysalis. A moth, however, spins a protective silk case which is known as a cocoon.
Well really it depends on the time and date that they started to caccoon
well i suppose it depends how well you keep them.If u give them lots of food and water with lots of room and fun things to do they will survive longer and turn into butterflies quicker. If u give them a little bit less of everything i have previously said then it will take longer to get fatter (they need to be fat to turn into butterflies) and form into butterflies, so they stay caterpillars for longer. If u give nothing, they will starve and die. (so then they don't stay caterpillars and alive for long.)so it depends, follow me on twitter I'm calledMeBunnies
With there body heat and being under shelter
No.It shouldn't be poisonous. Most Caterpillars like that are furry. Some are black with red stripes and some are red with black stripes.
Caterpillars do not drink water. How are they able to stay alive
