They hide in leafs
you feed caterpillars leafs, not a regular leaf, it depends on the species of caterpillars for example, a silk worm (caterpillar, and its the white kind, not the other kind) eats fruitless mulberry trees leafs, only! and tomato worms (caterpillar) can eat bell pepper leafs and manly tomato leafs and they are ONE kind that can eat different leafs, but not all. If they are not eating any of the food you are giving them then you should try leaves from some of these plants oak, willow, cherry, poplar, birch, apple or alder. If this doesn't work try dandlions or clover since this is where you can usually find larvae. If all else fails then just try some apple or carrot.
Caterpillars are mainly herbivores, feeding on leaves, fruits, and flowers of plants. Some caterpillars are known to be selective feeders and will only consume specific types of plants.
Turtles enjoy eating leafs and starfish and mermaids
Caterpillars usually live in places that have very soft leafs. They are deep down on the ground, you usually have to dig for them but they will be there for sure.
leafs and have a twig for them to climb on
worms and caterpillars get their energy from eating plants (leafs or other fruits and veggies). This is because plants get their energy from the sun. So, when worms and caterpillars eat this they also get energy.
