Hi there, The bite of Huntsman spiders is of low risk (only mildly toxic). My cat tends to bring in a lot of them as 'gifts' for me, both alive and dead ones and he has never had any problems with them. Just as a precaution I have asked my vet about it and she let me know that as they have a very low toxicity, the worst thing that can happen if they do happen to get bitten is they may become nauseous in the 24 hours following a bite. However in saying this, huntsman spiders are a non-aggressive group of spiders and even if they were to turn aggressive towards a cat, their skin is thick enough on most areas of their body which would prevent penetration of the Huntsman's fangs. Hope this helps! I was concerned about this for a while until I asked my vet.
No, female huntsman spiders do not carry venom that poses a significant threat to humans. While they do possess venom to subdue their prey, it is not considered dangerous to humans and typically causes only mild irritation if a bite occurs. Huntsman spiders are more known for their size and speed rather than their venom.
Yes. Very fast.
most huntsman spiders live up to to 2 years but they are know to live up to 4. so if you have any huntsman spider eggs in your house those babies are gonna live then breed. interesting fact: huntsman spiders can lay up to 200 eggs.
