Tie above the bite and wash the site
No, female huntsman spiders do not carry venom that poses a significant threat to humans. While they do possess venom to subdue their prey, it is not considered dangerous to humans and typically causes only mild irritation if a bite occurs. Huntsman spiders are more known for their size and speed rather than their venom.
Hi there, The bite of Huntsman spiders is of low risk (only mildly toxic). My cat tends to bring in a lot of them as 'gifts' for me, both alive and dead ones and he has never had any problems with them. Just as a precaution I have asked my vet about it and she let me know that as they have a very low toxicity, the worst thing that can happen if they do happen to get bitten is they may become nauseous in the 24 hours following a bite. However in saying this, huntsman spiders are a non-aggressive group of spiders and even if they were to turn aggressive towards a cat, their skin is thick enough on most areas of their body which would prevent penetration of the Huntsman's fangs. Hope this helps! I was concerned about this for a while until I asked my vet.
Clean the bite with warm soapy water. Also cover the bite with sterile bandages.

Yes, a huntsman can potentially kill you, but it largely depends on the context. If you're referring to a huntsman spider, while their bite can be painful, they are not dangerous to humans. However, if you mean a person engaged in hunting, then a fatal encounter could occur due to accidents, misuse of firearms, or other violent situations, but such instances are rare and typically involve specific circumstances. Always exercise caution and respect for wildlife and hunters alike.
Having been bitten, it is pretty painful. If you allergic to bees/wasps, I recommend you don't try to handle spiders as the chances are you're allergic to them too.

If you think you have a spider bite...you should still see a doctor. Recently people have been mistaking spider bites for a serious and possibly fatal MRSA infection. I was given 50 mg Benadryl (diphenhydramine, generic, is available in sleep aid sections as well as antihistamine sections OTC) after a black widow bite and it did help a lot. If it is a brown recluse spider bite, you should see a doctor. People die from both of these types of spider bites.
