Killer bees originally spread north from Brazil into northern Argentina. From there they spread farther north into Central America. From Central America the bees spread to Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, and Southern California. The spread halted in East Texas for awhile due to the large concentration of honey bees located there.
