The muscles of grasshopper hind legs are found near the head. It is a common miss conception that grasshoppers use their legs to jump it is in fact their antenna that the use to jump with.
Hope this was helpful!!!! :)
A Grasshopper moves from the two back hind legs ,and also from the four front walking legs.
Grasshoppers have three pairs of jointed legs. The first two pairs of smaller legs are used for walking and climbing while the third pair of hind legs are adapted for jumping.The movement at the joints are produced by the contraction of the antagonistic muscles which are the flexor and the extensor muscles. Grasshoppers have both extensor muscles and flexor muscles inside their femur to extend and flex their tibia.So when the grasshopper jumps, the flexor muscles contracts, bringing the hind legs to the 'Z' position (in which the hind legs are folded and appeared like the letter 'Z'). The extensor muscles will then contract while the flexor muscles relax (producing a powerful force to push against the ground) and thus, propels the grasshopper into the air. This mechanism is called jumping.Adapted from my Bio reference book;Nexus Vista SPM Biology :)
the hind legs are folded in the shape of a Z in the position poised for a jump. the legs of grasshopper jerks backwards when the extensor muscle contracts. when the flexor muscle in the upper part of the grasshopper's legs contract, the lower parts of the legs are pulled towards the body. the grasshopper propels forward and upward into the air. if the hind leg muscle injured, the grasshopper cannot jump but it can walk.
The forelegs of a grasshopper are typically shorter and more robust, with spines for gripping and handling food. In contrast, the hind legs are much longer and adapted for jumping, with large femurs and muscles that give them power to propel the grasshopper into the air. Additionally, the hind legs have specialized structures like the femur-tibial joint and the tibial spurs that aid in the mechanics of jumping.
A grasshoppers fore wings are not used for flight. The hind wings of a grasshopper are used for flight, as well as to attract a mate.
A grasshopper is an insect that can be found hopping from blade to blade in grassy areas. They have powerful hind legs designed for jumping and feeding on grasses and leaves.
Their hind legs are super powerfull
The third pair of legs, which also are the hind legs. Those two legs are attached to the metathorax, which is the third segment, the hind segment, of the thorax, the middle part of the body of the insect. Practically all jumping animals that use their legs for jumping use mainly their hind legs for jumping.
The thorax is the body region of the grasshopper that is specialized for movement. It contains the muscles for the legs and wings, allowing the grasshopper to jump and fly.
The thorax which has the legs and wings attached to it.
The boy grasshopper has rasps on his hind legs, he rubs those rasps across his body and it makes a sound that the girl grasshoppers can hear.
using his muscles most likely.
