I like to cut my sandwiches.
Sandwiches and pizza.
You may a) cut all of the sandwiches sideways into 3 pieces, so that each person gets 1/3 of a sandwich b) cut all of the sandwiches lengthwise into 3 long pieces, so that each person gets 1/3 of a sandwich c) cut all three sandwiches into 9 pieces and give each person three 1/9 slices (part of each sandwich)
jam sandwiches with the crusts cut off
People cut sandwiches into triangles to make them look special. There aren't many things you can do with a sandwich to make it look festive. You can cut off the crusts or cut shapes out of it with a cookie cutter, but that wastes part of the sandwich. Cutting it into triangles is a quick and easy way to 'fancy up' a plain sandwich.
with a knife :)

A pound is 16 ounces. Try thinking a little. Anyway, it's a pound and a quarter, so...five into twenty is four. Four sandwiches per pound. Five sandwiches in 20 ounces. Four ounces per sandwich. 20 sand/5lbs=4sand per lb. 16oz. /4 sand=4oz. per sand. 20oz./4oz.=5 sandwiches

Probably the most popular sandwich in the US is the hamburger or cheeseburger. Other popular sandwiches are chicken, tuna salad, chicken salad, ham, hot ham and cheese, cold cut, and roast beef sandwiches.
6 x 8 = 48.
I don't know what you mean by "other ways" but there is only one way to do it evenly, unless you want to use smaller and smaller pieces: cut each sandwich into thirds. Of course, in theory, there are infinite ways to divide the sandwiches if you you can cut the pieces different sizes.
