Currently the OSHA requires 1000 hours of experience in order to get a crane operator certification, but this requirement is likely to change at any given time if the number of crane related accidents increases.
I'm not sure how it works in PA, but in NY all you have to do is fill out a renewal form for crane operator certification. Check with your local department of labor. A crane operator certification renewal is the same in New Jersey. Just check with the department of labor.
