How does a teen get a work permit in Detroit MI?

I'm trying to get on as well but I've been told try going to the New Center One building downtown across from the Fisher building and then you can try Herman Kiefer hospital also downtown for one. I'll be going down Monday for one.

Yes, it does. You'll have to go down to your school district headquarters (I think, it's been a while.) and get fill out a form, take that to your employer, have them fill out their portion, then take it back to the school district, where they will stamp it. I think they keep a copy, and your employer has to keep one at the location where you work. Your specific employer should be able to tell you exactly what you have to do to get the form.
