A clinically certified forensic counselor provides mental health and substance abuse counseling services within the legal and criminal justice systems. Counseling may relate to parole, probation, victim assistance, law enforcement or expert evaluation of situations, such as family settings. Forensic counselor certification is available through the American College of Certified Forensic Counselors (ACCFC) or the American College of Forensic Examiners International (ACFEI).

It, like all licensing requirements, varies on the state. I am a Licensed School counselor in Michigan, with no teaching certificate. In Michigan if I had a teaching certificate I would be certified as a school counselor, not licensed. There appears not to be a set guideline for abbreviating Licensed School Counselor.

In order to become a substance abuse counselor, you must obtain a license and become certified by the National Certification Commission. Programs vary by state.
To become a forensic pathologist, one typically needs to complete medical school, a residency in pathology, and a fellowship in forensic pathology. You must also obtain board certification in forensic pathology through the American Board of Pathology. Additionally, most states require forensic pathologists to be licensed physicians.
