well im hust thirteen so ill try and use my own words but isn't a fussion reaction when a lighter elliment and a larger eliment implode on eachoth such as hydrogen and helium causeing a large burst of energy sorta like the sun i am probly confussing it with some orhet type of reaction and also isn't it fanasized in being used as a power source and contributes to the heavy water power plants if i am wrong plz correct i don't like giving wrong info by ;-)
Fusion is when ANY two atoms are forced close enough that their nuclei combine into a single atom. The atoms can be the same size or different sizes. Energy is released only if the combined atoms produce an element that is less than or equal to the Atomic Mass of an iron atom. Heavy elements require energy to be added so they are only produced in explosive processes like nova or supernova explosions.
A fusion reaction generates helium as a waste product.
No, fusion is a type of nuclear reaction.
fusion bomb explosion
Fusion is a nuclear reaction.
False
In nuclear fusion reaction two nuclei are combined by providing the energy.
fission
Nuclear reaction
Not fusion, but a fission reaction.
A fusion reaction.
The easiest fusion reaction to make is between deuterium and tritium, two isotopes of hydrogen. This reaction requires the least amount of energy to initiate and is being pursued for fusion energy research.
Fusion occurs in the core of the sun and other stars.
