Zakaria Haji Abdi (born 12 December 1958) is a Somali activist, Business man and politician, who is the current Alliance for Re-liberation of Somalia. He was Somali Politician since 1991 fall down of Siyad Barre government under Ali Mahdi.
Born in Galkayo, Zakaria graduated from Riyadh University, University New York and Middlesex University London and the London School of Economics, becoming first a Labour Party researcher, and rising to become one of Chancellor Gordon Brown's confidants, being appointed Chairman of HM Treasury's Council of Economic Advisers. Miliband was elected the Member of Parliament for the South Yorkshire constituency of Doncaster North in the 2005 general election.
Zakaria served as a Minister Agriculture (1992), Minster of Information, Minister of Education and acting foreign minister for two consecutive IGAD summit meetings in Khartoum, Sudan, and Kampala, Uganda (2002-2003).
