Therapist need to go through a regular 4 year university. You can get a degree in social work or get a degree in psychology. Whatever degree that will prepare you to work with people and learn about human interactions will qualify a person to become a therapist.
Some therapists or psychologists can practice with only a Master's degree.
Physical therapists require at least 4 years of undergraduate training. During this education they are required to log in a number of hours as a thearipist as well.
