As of now, in the United States, only cisgender men are required to register for the draft. Transgender women who are assigned male at birth are also required to register.
Trans women face specific challenges in the military draft process due to the requirement to register for Selective Service based on their assigned sex at birth. This can create difficulties for trans women who have transitioned and identify as female, as they may be required to register as male and potentially face discrimination or lack of recognition of their gender identity. Additionally, the military draft process may not have clear guidelines or accommodations for trans individuals, leading to potential confusion and barriers for trans women seeking to navigate the system.

some citizens are required to register for it some people are obligated to register for it, but there is no military draft right now it is a system that will be used if there is a military draft in the future
when must all men register for selective service
The US military all ready has in place plans for a draft of women if/ when a draft is reintroduced. Women ARE eligible now in the eyes of the government, so they will be drafted.
The purpose of the draft is to resupply the military with a combat force in an emergency situation, and being that women are ineligible from assignment to a combat position by military regulation, they are excluded from the draft. I don't want this answer to be misleading at all, so to be clear, a woman will not be given the role of "rifleman", forinstance. This does not mean that a woman will never have to fire a rifle, it just means that it won't be her primary job. She may still be stationed in very dangerous and hostile locations, and fighting may become a routine activity regardless of the fact that it isn't her primary job.
Incase the Draft is called.
