This is not an actual true number. It is based on the childs level of care. Depends on the state rates also. Texas is 45 for basic, 70 for moderate and 100 for specialized which these amounts are per day. I am not sure what intense level of care pays.

Foster parents do not get paid. Foster parents are reimbursed for child expenses. They get a check every month. The amount of money a foster parent receives depends on what agency they are with. Usually it is enough to provide food and clothes and pay utilities. You will often hear foster parents complaining about "How little" they receive.

I have been a foster parent in Massachusetts for 8 years. You do not get "paid" to be a foster parent you get subsidy to help support the child that is in your care. currently we take in children birth-6 years old and the subsidy is $17.10 a day, I believe it goes up .50 when they turn 6 and then a bit more when they are teenagers. You do receive $50 for them for there birthday and $100 for Christmas and then $107 every 4 months for clothing, other than that it's all you. You pay for anything and everthing else they need. There are some programs available to help pay for extra curricular activities such as soccer or gymnastics.

It depends on the rules of the state. Most do provide a stipend for the help in supporting the child. There are some that actually foster enough kids to support themselves, but this is rare and usually involves the kids being deprived of things they need.

In the USA: yes, you get a stipend or board rate for each child based on their age. Children with special needs are higher.

For anyone thinking they are going to make money off of fostering, please do not do it, this is about helping children and reunification or adoption. So many misconceptions about foster parents, when we fostered we paid out way more than we brought in, we devoted all our time into helping these children, they destroyed our personal property at times and we still had to treat them as if they are a guest in our home. It is hard and subsidies are not a form of payment for it. Foster parenting is for people that have the ability and funds to help out children for a short amount of time, and a few for a long amount of time. We went from fostering a child that was considered unadoptable to adopting her, she has had DCF called on us a few times over her behaviors, but we still love her and did not give up. We had taken her on at 8 years old in diapers not fully sure of her disorders, within 30 days she was out of diapers, in a public school and doing fairly well as long as it was a structured environment. Schools don't listen, other people don't listen when you say please do not take your eyes off of her. She beat one child with a Baseball bat because someone wouldn't listen to us, another with a rock, and tried to strangle a boy that she was stalking at school. The schools don't like it when they call DCF and have it switched around on them because they did not listen. We found out she had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome just before adoption, DCF lies about the children they place in homes so they can get adopted. Since we cared about her so much we didn't want to stop the process over it. FAS is a horrible issue to deal with and many in care have it. I will not foster again, just so that you know, it isn't for me anymore, but that is because I could not handle another child that possibly has FAS or another disorder. Not all have issues, but most do.
